Youth Branders started as a pilot program with SMC High School students of Honoka’a High and Intermediate and the Hamakua Youth Center. The program objective is to give the students who do not conform to regular classrooms, the opportunity to complete the high school curriculums through Marketing and Branding.
Through the program not only have these students learn basic graphic design and branding through creating apparel, they are also encouraged to work as a team, cultural awareness, basic home economics, and now event coordinations. In only six months of this program, we have seen continuing success in attitude, performance, and punctuality, that Youth Branders will be continuing again next school year.
